Study for Developing Lumbini as Cycle City

Urban roads are used by all sorts of users including pedestrians, cyclists, motorists and pubic vehicles. Their speed of travel varies significantly. Pedestrians and cyclists move slowly while other motorized vehicles travel at higher speeds. Sharing a common roadway by all the users is unsafe and unpleasant. Thus, proper road infrastructure should be provided to ensure the pedestrian and cyclists. Segregation between different types of pathways can be achieved by level difference and construction of green belts between the facilities and in some areas, separate roadways can be provided for different modes as per necessity and suitability.

Planning a cycling city is still a new concept in Nepal. Some of the works that we did in this project are highlighted here.
